B&W Week Photo 7 – Reintroduction of Colour

So today is the last day of the B&W project… its been hard …… but i kept it going …. even for just a week ….

the processing was originally finbarr’s idea …. what he thought i should do was make them black and white and keep the world around them in colour …. signifying the elder generation ….. BUT i decided to turn them sepia and make the world black and white …. just cause i thought it looked better and there is no meaning behind it …. if you see a meaning behind it … by all means tell me ….

what i love about this photo though is the fact that the two of them are holding hands ….. this couple was well over their 70s maybe even 80s … and she had to walk so slow .. the poor thing … but he held her hand so tight … and walked and waited and made sure she was ok every few minutes ….. it was the sweetest thing ever …. i love it when people at that age still hold hands … after all those years of togetherness …after all the fights .. all the troubles …. all the trials … everything to test them ….. they still love each other …. to me…. its one of the greatest moments to capture ….. and i hope to find more elderly couples holding hands in the future ….

Allergy Skin Test

We took her in for allergy testing in an attempt to get to the bottom of her eczema. The doctor performed the skin scratch test for 6 allergens- whole egg, cow’s milk, wheat, corn, almond, and soy. Technically she tested postive for all of them, but due to her eczema her skin is highly reactive and the doctor said she would not deem any of them truly positive. The sharpie they used still hasn’t come off! Month 9.
